The values behind Mood Bakers were shaped long before the brand began.

In 1983, Shri Vijay Kumar Awasthi came to Lucknow and established Prabhakar Iron Store. Over more than four decades, the business earned recognition and lasting customer trust through ethical dealings, dependable service and honest relationships.

Growing up in this environment, Manu Awasthi learned that a business is not built only through products or profits. It is built by keeping promises, solving customers’ problems and treating every relationship with respect.

When Mood Bakers began its journey, the industry changed—but the values remained the same. Honesty, responsibility, fair value and sincere customer service continue to guide every decision we make.

Where Our Understanding of Taste Began

Long before Mood Bakers became a business idea, its understanding of flavour had already begun within the family home.

Raneeta Awasthi introduced her son, Manu Awasthi, to a wide variety of thoughtfully prepared home-cooked cuisines from an early age. Growing up with different recipes, ingredients and food traditions gradually developed his taste buds and created a deep appreciation for balance, freshness, consistency and the small details that make food truly satisfying.

These childhood experiences remained firmly rooted in Manu as he grew older. They gave him the confidence to recognise good flavour, understand when a recipe needed improvement and work closely with chefs rather than depending entirely on standard commercial preparations.

Years later, this deeply developed understanding of taste became one of the inspirations behind the foundation of Mood Bakers. It continues to guide the menus and recipe development of Mood Bakers, Mood Restaurant and Mood Grills—helping the team preserve the warmth of home-cooked food while presenting it through professional kitchens and memorable dining experiences.

The taste that shaped Mood Bakers was first nurtured at home—with variety, care and a mother’s affection.

From Technology to a New Beginning


Before Mood Bakers, Manu Awasthi had built his career as an IT consultant, software developer and entrepreneur through Prabhakar IT Services, serving hospitals and clinics across more than 16 states in India.

A major professional setback in 2018 became a turning point. With the constant support of his wife, Tripti Awasthi, Manu decided to begin a new journey. Before entering the bakery industry, he completed industrial and bakery training to understand production, ingredients, hygiene and professional food operations.

His experience in technology, business, architecture and interior design came together in one vision: to create a completely vegetarian bakery known for quality, fair value and memorable customer experiences. Manu personally designed and curated every Mood Bakers space, making each outlet distinctive, welcoming and built with genuine passion.

A difficult turning point became the beginning of a new dream.


A Dream Shared by Two

Mood Bakers was never the dream of one person alone. From its earliest days, Tripti Awasthi remained Manu’s constant source of encouragement, strength and belief.

During uncertain and demanding phases, she helped keep the vision alive while also taking responsibility for the family and the children’s future. Her support allowed Manu to focus on building the business, while she continued to remain closely connected with every challenge, decision and achievement.

Mood Bakers stands today as a shared family dream—built through partnership, sacrifice and the determination to create something meaningful together.

    Mood Bakers began in Lucknow as a completely vegetarian bakery focused on hygiene, quality, honest value and a warm customer experience.
